Miley Cyrus channels Edie Sedgwick in Marie Claire Magazine
Always expect the unexpected from Miley Cyrus. From teen idol to sex symbol, her unconventional and bold style have continually redefined her image with spellbinding power.
In the September 2015 issue of Marie Claire magazine, Miley is all grown up again, taking a page out of the Edie Sedgwick stylebook. From her kohl-rimmed eyes and side-parted blonde hair to the black tights and mini skirt, Miley wears retro glamour stunningly well.
Edie’s look, especially her jewelry, has long been my guilty pleasure. I, too, became mesmerized by her trademark triangular earrings and all of her other oversized adornments. So it stands to reason that my newest designs are Miley as Edie, or is it Edie embodied in Miley?
The Factory Girl Collection by Steve Sasco Designs features the famous shoulder-grazing Butterfly earrings (FGC501), an inspiration straight out of the 60s – the pop art 60s whose superstars were Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol. Edie’s signature look defined her seductive charm. In the Marie Claire photo spread, Miley’s seductive charm is defined by Edie.
Well-played Miley Cyrus!
